My Story…

My niece Maya was diagnosed with cancer (Neuroblastoma) at the age of 4. Her world was turned upside down as she spent countless days, weeks, months in hospitals rooms fighting cancer. Often in isolation due to her low immune system, Maya would receive great joy from the visits of Ooch volunteers who would do crafts, sing or just talk. These visits not only brought a smile to Maya’s face, they also made the long hospital stays more bearable. Later on, Maya started to attend Ooch's overnight summer camps. Maya loved it! Ooch is staffed with doctors, nurses, and wonderful volunteers, making it possible for Maya and other kids fighting cancer to attend summer camp. Now 11, my niece Maya continues to attend Ooch every summer and has forged great friendships with other kids who know all too well what cancer is all about. Please donate, any amount helps, to ensure Camp Ooch continues their amazing work in bringing rays of sunshine to the lives of little cancer warriors. Thanks!!

Help send kids affected by childhood cancer to Camp Ooch!

Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) provides children with and affected by childhood cancer with what they need most – the chance to be kids. Ooch is the only overnight camp in Canada to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions.  Often referred to as the social cure for cancer, we offer programs year-round in Muskoka, at SickKids, and various other cancer centres and cities across Ontario. 

As a registered charity that receives no government funding, Ooch relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, individuals and corporate donors, like you.

Ooch changes the lives of over 1,500 kids affected by childhood cancer every year.  However, 79% of kids with cancer in Ontario still can't go to Camp.  You can help change that!

Cancer changes a child's life.  So does Camp.  And so can you.
