For participating in Ottawa Sporting Life 10k - 2018

Our story…

Last Mother's Day my son and I took part in the “Run for CHEO” event in support of a little boy who had just being diagnosed with Leukemia and was waiting for a bone marrow transplant at CHEO. He is still undergoing chemotherapy after receiving his transplant in September, but now is strong enough to be back at school and looking forward to a summer full of adventures, including a week at camp OOCH! This Mother's Day, my son and I will participate in the "Ottawa Runs for OOCH" event, to help send kids affected by childhood cancer to a summer camp that provides all the fun that they deserve in a safe and caring environment. Please help us support this great cause!

Description

Help send kids affected by childhood cancer to Camp Ooch!

Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) provides children with and affected by childhood cancer with what they need most – the chance to be kids. Ooch is the only overnight camp in Canada to offer on-site IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions.  Often referred to as the social cure for cancer, we offer programs year-round in Muskoka, at SickKids in Toronto, and various other cancer centres and cities across Ontario - including right here in Ottawa.

As a registered charity that receives no government funding, Ooch relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, individual and corporate donors like you.

Ooch changes the lives of over 1,500 kids affected by childhood cancer every year, including over 50 kids from the Ottawa region.  However, 79% of kids with cancer in Ontario still can't go to Camp.  You can help change that!

Cancer changes a child's life.  So does Camp.  And so can you.
