Hi over 11 years ago I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer called Granulosa Cell Tumor (GCT). We were trying to get pregnant and my fertility doctor noticed I had a cyst that wasn't going away--it turned out to be GCT. I was lucky I only needed surgery no chemo for treatment and then we had our miracle baby Nicholas. Fast forward 9 years and I went in for a routine follow-up and had very high blood markers, so my doc recommended I go see Dr James. I was then diagnosed with a secondary primary cancer called peritoneal mesothelioma. I was not so lucky to just have surgery--I had three rounds of brutal chemo and then was hospitalized five times due to numerous side effects. I was so lucky to have caught both cancers early and have an amazing support system. I am walking in Jodi's Race for those who have not been so fortunate.
