My Story…
This will be my 5th year running in the FCRR. Over the past 4 years, I have raised over $11,000 through the generosity of family, friends and colleagues! My connection to the commitment to find the cure began many years ago, when our daughter, Shauna at age 5, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Our lives changed overnight. Robert and I made a deal with Shauna at that time that we would help researchers find the cure and her responsibility was to look after herself as best she could. We both have kept our promises to each other and in fact, in October 2016, Shauna and Stephen presented us with the a very special gift – a beautiful baby boy, Sterling Bernard, who is my latest inspiration to run in search for the cure for his Mommy.
