Our story…
My husband and I are participating in this remembrance walk under the name Sophia’s Soldiers which is an organization we have created for our daughter Sophia. We created Sophia’s soldiers because our little Sophia was alive for 8 days & I have never seen anyone as strong or fight so hard. During delivery was a complication called Shoulder Dystocia. Unfortunately, proper measures were not taking quick enough an Sophia suffered lack of oxygen to the brain. In the NICU we were informed She did not have the brain function to breath or swallow on her own. If we kept her on the machines no guarantee she will live and if we took her off no estimation how long, she can live. So, we made the hardest decision of our lives we took her off the machines made her comfortable and enjoyed the saddest and longest 12 hrs of our lives. Sophia’s Soldiers is to help families like our self to get thru the hardest time of their life to pay it forward for all who have helped us such has NILMDTS.
