2018 Butterfly 5K run /walk and Kid's Fun Run

But no worries! Saturday is Walk in Registration and Pre-Registration Pick Up Day.

We will be at Julia's Garden from 1 pm until 4 pm tomorrow.

Kid's Race Registration has limited availability, but is open for walk in registration only.

As a reminder: the police department reserve the right to cancel the Butterfly 5k due to inclement weather for the safely of our participants and volunteers. This event is non-refundable and considered a tax deductible donation. There is no rain date.

Location: The Butterfly 5k takes place at 9 am on Sunday, August 12th at the World War I Memorial Park on 401 Elmwood St., North Attleboro, Massachusetts.  Please note: the time for this year's race has been changed to 9 am. The start line is located at the entrance to the park. The Kid's Fun Run race starts at 10.:30 am at Julia's Playground at the top of the WWI Park.  Parking is provided at the lower parking lot at the WWI park.

5k Course:  Some races brag that their course is flat…ours is downhill!  Get a personal record on this net downhill, USATF Certified, 5k (3.1 miles) course.  The 5k start is at 9:00 am. The first mile drops over 100 feet, the second mile is level, the last mile is rolling. You can walk or run the 5k. No dogs are allowed on the course. Registration: Online registration is available until noon on Friday, August 10th.  Online registration fees are  $35 on Saturday, August 11th and $35 on race day.  Race day registration starts at 7:30 am at the entrance arch to Julia's Garden.  Walk in race day registration will end promptly at 8:30 am. Use the "registration" link on the left to register online for the Butterfly 5K.

Note: We would love your assistance in helping us make this the biggest and best Butterfly 5K we have ever had! Please help us promote our race on social media. There is a link on the left and at the end of online registration that allows you to sign up and help promote our race on your personal social media sites. If someone clinks on your link and follows through with registration, we will reimburse you $3 for each online registration. If you sign up 10 other registrants, you can run for free! This offer ends on Friday, August 10th when online registration closes. 

Saturday Registration/Number Pickup: Walk in Registration and number pickup will be available at Julia's Garden on the grassy picnic area near the Playground  from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday August 11th.

Kids Fun Run: The kid's fun run starts at 10:30 am right next to Julia's Playground inside the WWI Park. The race is open to children from 3 to 12 years of age. All participants will receive medals. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 runners in each age category.  Kid's Fun Run registration fee is $5 and is only available online.  Limited to 200 participants. Use the "registration" link on the left to register for the Kid's Fun Run.

Awards:  Butterfly 5k – $200 prize and trophies awarded for 1st overall male and female; $100 prize and trophy awarded for 2nd overall male and female; $50 prize and trophy awarded for 3rd overall male and female.  Age group trophies for top 3 male and female:  0-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Trophies are awarded to the handicapped division for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female.

Team Awards:  Trophies are awarded to the top three runners of a competing team  in the following categories: High School Team, Open Team.  You must name your team on the application.  NOTE: To avoid confusion please be sure all team members use the same team name, misspellings or abbreviations may cause problems.

T-Shirts: T-shirts for the first 400 applicants.  All runners registered by August 1st will be guaranteed their size.  Additional shirts may be purchased for $15.

Post Race:    Join us after the Butterfly 5K at Julia's Garden for more festivities. Enjoy the Kid's Race at the playground,  rock out to entertainment provided  by Luke Renchan Entertainment, cheer for the trophy award winners and raffle winner announcements and watch the children participate in our live butterfly release.  Also, Willow Tree Farm will be supplying  food and drink.

Raffle: Tickets will be available for $1 on Saturday, August 11th and Sunday August, 12th on race day.

All proceeds from the race will support The Julia Cekala Charitable Foundation.  The ongoing mission of the foundation is the maintenance and expansion of "Julia's Garden and Playground" located at the WWI Memorial Park.
