"Nixon has completed his treatment plan and his scans show no evidence of cancer. We are beyond thrilled to reach this point!!!
He had 20 months of treatment including 6 months chemotherapy, 12 hour major abdominal surgery, tandem stem cells transplants with high dose chemotherapy being isolated for 2 months, 12 rounds of radiation and 7 months of immunotherapy. On top of this he had 3 ICU admissions, a number of bacterial infections in his blood including 3 bacterial infections at one time and having emergency surgery to remove his central line. Having a central line in his chest for 18 months, 33 blood product transfusions, 25 general anaesthetics, 20 months being fed through a nasal gastric tube and 289 days in hospital, it's definitely been a rollercoaster of a journey.
Nixon will continue to have scans every 6 weeks.
Thank you so very much to everyone for all your support and love"
