My Story…
#TEAMEMELYN
Our daughter Emelyn was born on March 10th, 2017 with a condition called Gastroschisis where her abdominal organs formed outside her body. We spent 59 days in the NICU at Akron Children's after she was born also dealing with an Acquired Hydrocephalus diagnosis and a brain surgery to put in a lifelong shunt. After 4 surgeries, lots of modern medicine, and most of all prayer, we took Emelyn home. We have been back to Akron Children's for many follow up appointments and unfortunately 3 more surgeries, but as of March 17th, 2019, our Emelyn is SHUNT FREE and thriving! She is our miracle baby and we are so grateful for the amazing staff and team of doctors taking care of our strong fighter! Please consider helping us reach our goal of $500 in Emelyn's honor for Akron Children's Hospital. We are running for her and know that your donation will be such an amazing contribution to a place that saved our daughters life! Thank you!
