BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-secondary Education

Raise money for BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-secondary Education

STEPS Forward's BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (BC-IPSE) provides inclusion support for students with developmental disabilities to access post-secondary education in BC.

Students are supported to enroll at the university or college of their choice and to pursue studies and engage in student life in the same classes and places as any other student. Over 4 years, students take a variety courses with a focus in a specific field of studies.

Students earn a Certificate of Completion awarded to students at Convocation alongside students earning a BA in the same field of studies.

Young adults with developmental disabilities want the same access to universities and colleges as any students starting adult life and laying down a foundation for the future. They want to expand their knowledge beyond basic life skills. Support them to follow in the footsteps of others across BC who for the first time have opportunities to learn from academic courses, from the experiences of student life, and from relationships based on mutual interests and not disability labels.

Join us to celebrate their achievements and ensure access for future students with developmental disabilities to a rewarding education after high school.
