Description
At BC Guide Dogs, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of blind and visually impaired people, children with profound autism, and military and RCMP Veterans living with PTSD by providing them with professionally trained Guide Dogs, Autism Support Dogs and PTSD Service Dogs. Assistance dogs not only provide a specific service to their handlers, but also greatly enhance the quality of their lives with a new sense of freedom and independence, reducing the isolation that is often caused by their disability.
Each puppy born through our in-house breeding program has the potential to grow up to change someone's life. It takes two years and up to $35,000 to breed, raise and train each of these four-legged heroes-in-the-making.
By fundraising for BC Guide Dogs, you are supporting the Puppy Training program. Money raised at the Scotiabank Vancouver Marathon and 5K will ensure that we can continue providing excellent care and training to our puppies, supporting them on their journey. Runners and walkers who raise a minimum of $100 will receive a Puppy Pal Package; a welcome letter about your sponsored puppy, a photo of your lovable bundle, and 5 blank puppy greeting cards. If you raise a minimum of $250, you will receive a Puppy Scholarship Package; a photo and welcome letter about your sponsored pup, and regular ‘pup dates’ (written by the puppies, of course) and photos as your puppy grows up. If you raise a minimum of $1,000, you will receive a Mom & Pups Fund Package; a birth announcement and framed photo of mom & her pups, a welcome letter about your sponsored pup, a photo of your lovable bundle, and regular 'pup dates'. For more information, please email communications@bcguidedog.com, or call 604-940-4504.
