My Story…
It has been 10 years since my nephew ended his life, however the pain for those who loved him lingers. A decade later there is more of an open conversation around suicide and depression and it is acknowledged more in our society as affecting a significant number of people. Mental health is being discussed and given more importance in our health care and education systems. However, the number of people who feel this desperation and act on it are far too many. It was in Matthew's name that I started to run 10 years ago and I will run the ScotiaBank half marathon in June in his memory and to help raise money for suicide prevention. He was a son, a brother, a nephew, .....a friend. Perhaps you have been affected by this issue and want to be involved. You can , by running yourself or supporting me with a fundraising donation so I can help others.
Donate to help Sharee raise money for 2019 Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k’s fundraising campaign.
