On June 23rd, I’ll be running the scotia bank half marathon for Vokra. For those who don’t know, I have been volunteering for this amazing cat rescue organization for 4 years now. Vokra is a non-profit, no-kill and 100% volunteer-based organization that relies mostly on donations. I support Vokra because they go above and beyond to help every cat in need. Whether the cat is sick, old, scared, feral or having behavior issues, Vokra will find a way to help. Vokra’s trappers are working tirelessly trying to get the kitties off the street and bring them safe and sound to our center. From there, they will be accessed and they will go either go to a foster home to be adopted or to a barn if they are too feral. Vokra will offer a long term retirement home to all the old kitties that are too sick to get adopted. They will be cared for and loved in our foster homes for the rest of their life.
VOKRA is a volunteer-driven, no-kill rescue association with a mission to end cat overpopulation and homelessness in the Lower Mainland.
