My Story…
This year I turn 55! and am participating in the Scotiabank Vancouver Charity Challenge in the 5k walk again to raise funds for a charity that is important to me. As many of you know, the WECHCPC took a chance on me. The last four years I have been lucky enough to be employed by a group of caring and understanding people. With my health challenges, they never question my having to take time off for clinics, tests and any other challenges I’ve had in the last few years. I laugh every day! The volunteers are the best and we do some really great work for the community. Help me reach my goal!
Description
Community Policing comes from a different mindset than conventional policing. It is rooted in a desire for localized crime prevention methods rather than in a dependence on traditional crime control methods. With the support of the Vancouver Police Department, we involve regular community members to help with solving real problems and to enrich the community. Be part of the solution! Show your support for us by donating or participating. Train with your fellow participants, receive a team shirt to wear on race day, and attend a thank you BBQ when you join the WECHCPC ‘Cops and Runners’ team!
