My Story…

On June 23rd, I will be once again be running the half marathon for Cassie + Friends - a charity started by our President David Porte and his wife Debbie back in 2007 when they discovered their daughter Cassie had Juvenile Arthritis. I’m running to raise funds and awareness to help make life better for kids and families affected by Juvenile Arthritis and other childhood rheumatic diseases. JA is a debilitating, chronic autoimmune disease that affects 3 in 1000 children in Canada - and yet, it's still relatively unknown and often misunderstood. Since 2007, the Cassie + Friends' Team has been there for kids and families from the initial fear and disbelief of diagnosis through the endless hospital visits, needles, medications, scans and terrifying unknowns. Please help me fund critical research and child/family support services by sponsoring me on the Cassie + Friends and Porte Communities team today.

You’re invited to join Cassie and Friends as we run and walk to raise funds for kids and families affected by Juvenile Arthritis (JA) and other rheumatic diseases in BC and across Canada.
 
Last year, we raised over $250,000 thanks to your dedication and hard work. For 2019, we have set the bar even higher!
 
We challenge you to help us raise $260,000 for life-changing research, child and parent support programs, education and advocacy.
 
All teammates who raise more than $50 will receive a Cassie and Friends' Running Shirt and be entered to win exciting prizes.
