My Story…
My best friend was blessed with Noah, born a full-term healthy baby on August 28th, 2015. When Noah was 3 months old, the parents noticed one of his pupils was larger than the other, and one of his eyelids was droopy. They took Noah to the doctor that morning. After seeing the doctor and being examined, Noah was sent home, with some exams scheduled in a few weeks. The next day They took him to Sick Kids Hospital, within hours they had done X-Rays, ultrasounds, and CT Scans, and the parents waited .Noah, a tiny 3 month old baby, had a 7 cm mass in his chest, multiple masses in his lungs, on both adrenal glands and in his liver. In January 2016, after waiting for the results of a nerve-wrecking CT scan they were told that Noah’s tumours had shrunk and calcified enough that he would not require any more chemotherapy.
On March 2016, Noah’s MRI showed a tumour that filled his spinal cord from top to bottom. In three days Noah had gone from an active baby, to a baby struggling to breathe. They were told radiation was not an option, the doctors decided to start Noah on the harshest chemotherapy they possibly could and hoped for the best. After 2.5 months in the hospital, Noah was discharged. They still went twice a week to Sick Kids for check-ups and Noah had his last chemotherapy in June 2016. Noah will have lasting effects from the cancer for the rest of his life as the cancer paralyzed Noah from the chest down, but, just like with the cancer, Noah won’t let that stop him. He is a determined, strong and beautiful boy. To see his full story please go to

Description
Help send kids affected by childhood cancer to Camp Ooch!
A diagnosis of childhood cancer is a big, scary, sudden swerve in the road, changing life in an instant.
For affected families, it can feel like everything is about cancer. Simple, childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams are left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
For over 35 years, Camp Ooch has offered a different path – the healing power of fun, friendship and self-confidence, and the joy of kids getting to just be kids!
Often referred to as the social cure for cancer, Ooch provides programming at an overnight camp in Muskoka, at SickKids in Toronto, in specialized paediatric centres and in communities across Ontario. Camp Ooch is the only overnight camp in Canada to offer onsite IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions.
Camp Ooch is a privately funded, volunteer-based organization that relies exclusively on the generous support of fundraisers, corporate donors and individuals, like you.
Ooch changes the lives of over 1,500 kids affected by childhood cancer every year. However, almost 80% of kids with cancer in Ontario don’t have access to the wonders of camp. You can help change that.
Cancer changes a child's life. So does Camp. And so can you.
