I am running in support of the residents at Broadmead Care's Veterans Memorial Lodge.
Well, maybe not running. I am NOT a runner! Not even close. I have signed up to "Wog" (a walk/ jog) in the 8k Turkey Trot at the Victoria Marathon on October 13, 2019.
I am an avid hiker and lunch time power walker, so I am fairly confident I will cross the finish line no problem. Hopefully before it gets dark!
The best part is I am wogging to support those who have served our country and ensured we have the freedoms we have today - our veterans, and more specifically those who call Veterans Memorial Lodge their home.
Veterans like Major Murray Edwards, who served in both WWII and the Korean War, of which he was a part of the Battle of Kapyong. At 99 years old, Mr. Edwards inspires me every day to work hard and strive to succeed in everything I do.
Will you support my efforts ... and my extensor tendonitis?
Thanks so much!
