This is the 8th annual all-female triathlon designed to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer, research into eradicating the disease, recognizing the survivors and those living with breast cancer, and remembering those who have been lost to this terrible disease. The proceeds from the event are donated to local breast cancer organizations to fund breast cancer research and awareness activities. The past seven years, the event has contributed several thousand dollars to local breast cancer charitable organizations through your participation in this triathlon.
*NEW* in 2019 - 5 year age divisions for awards in the triathlon. The event will be timed and we will have prizes for winners in each age group and overall.
Also, *NEW* is the All-Girl Splash-n-Dash for ages 5-15.
(Girls ages 5 - 13 only)
We are excited to offer an all-girl Splash-n-Dash event for girls ages 5 - 15. It's a great way to get your daughters involved in a fun event that promotes fun, health and creates a positive self-image. The focus is on PARTICIPATION rather than competition. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned.
What is a Splash and Dash? Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines running and swimming. The run can take place on a trail, a road or a path. Similarly, the swim can take place in any body of water – a pool, a reservoir, or an ocean. USA Triathlon’s Splash & Dash Youth Aquathlon Series will feature a swim/run combination. As an athlete progresses and depending on water conditions, a traditional aquathlon may either feature a swim/run or a run/swim/run combination.
Why Should Your Daughters Participate?
All girls will receive an event shirt (or official Splash-n-Dash shirt) and finishers medal.
The following event divisions are available to the triathlon and duathlon participants:
Other: Relay team (can be 2-3 people per relay team)
Note: Reference age-up rules for all age division participants. Your age division and event start wave is based on your age as of December 31 of that year. For example, if you are 39 on the day of the race but will be 40 by December 31st, your wave and age division is 40-44. Failure to participate and start in the correct wave will cause your time to be inaccurate and impact division results.
For the Triathlon, the top finisher in each age division and relay team are eligible for awards. Awards will be handed out at the post-event award ceremony. No awards will be mailed or delivered. IMPORTANT: It is important that you begin your event in the proper event wave. As example, If you are 39 on the day of the race but will be 40 by December 31st, your wave and age division is 40-44
For the Duathlon, only the top three overall finishers will receive an award commemorating their finish.
Important NOTICE: Awards are ordered 10 days in advance of the event. Award divisions not represented will not have an award ordered if no division entrants as of the order date.
All participants of the triathlon and duathlon receive an official custom event medal.
