Join us for a 60-minute indoor triathlon! Different than a traditional triathlon, each participant or relay team will have a set amount of time to swim, bike, and run with allotted transitions between activities. Fun and pressure-free, this event is great for both experienced triathletes and those competing in their first race.
- 10-minute swim in a 25 meter lap pool
- 30-minute bike on an indoor cycle
- 20-minute run on a treadmill
Divisions will be split by gender. Relay teams will be scored separately.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend by participating on Saturday, March 16. The club-based event at Mount Carmel Fitness Center offers a safe and simulated environment for athletes of all fitness levels. The event is ideal for athletes who have no experience in triathlon to experienced athletes looking for a fun challenge. It’s our hope to inspire finishers to consider participating in one of our Greenswell outdoor triathlons in 2019 featuring: Super Sprint, Sprint and International distances. Regardless of fitness level, athleticism or goals, our Greenswell Multisport team and Mount Carmel Fitness Center team are here to support your journey and celebrate your accomplishments along the way.

The Triathlon
THE TRIATHLON
At your designated start time, athletes will begin with a 10-minute swim in the indoor pool. Shift gears and spend the next 30 minutes cycling in the main workout room. Then race toward the finish line with 20 minutes on the treadmill.
THE TRANSITIONS
Athletes are allowed 10 minutes to safely change from the pool to the cycling and five minutes to move from cycling to the treadmill.
THE SCORES
Race volunteers record the total distance covered during your swim, bike and run. The more distance you cover, the higher your score. The indoor triathlon is based on time rather than distance — meaning you receive points for going further in a specific period of time, not going faster over a fixed distance. The total event lasts for 75 minutes (60 minutes race time), consisting of:
Swim: 10 minutes
Transition 1 (Swim to Bike): 10 minutes ( from the pool to cycle)
Bike: 30 minutes on an indoor bike
Transition 2: 5-minutes (move from the cycle to treadmills)
Run: 20 minutes on a treadmill
Participants are graded on a curve. The furthest distance in each category gets the most points (actual number is based on total participants) and the shortest receives one point. Your “score” for the discipline is based on the points you achieve. All three disciplines count equally toward your final score. Therefore, your rank and score will not be determined until all participants have completed the event.
Transition times are fixed between events and do not count toward participants’ scores.
