The Boston Marathon qualifying USATF certified course (13.1 mile loop) starts at the Bowling Green Ball Park and runs through historic downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky and the beautiful WKU campus.(Marathoners will run the course twice.) Runners will finish at the Bowling Green Ball Park. Registered participants will receive a goodie bag and tech shirt. Finishers will receive a finisher’s medal and finish area refreshments.
Event categories include half marathon (run), marathon (run) and push rim marathon. There will be a 6 hour time limit on the race. After 6 hours, participants must move to the sidewalks or extreme right side of the road. There will be cyclists on the course to assist runners when needed.
Expo/pasta dinner and packet pick-up will be held at the National Corvette Museum on Saturday, November 2nd from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The National Corvette Museum is located off Exit 28 on I-65. Race day packet pick-up will be from 6:00-6:45 a.m. at the Bowling Green Ball Park (site of start and finish). Official race start is at 7:00 a.m. Central Time.

Awards
1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards to bg26.2 male/female finishers. Overall awards to masters male/female (40-49), grandmasters male/female (50 and over) and push rim wheelchair division. Awards also given for 1st thru 3rd place age group winners. Age groups for the marathon are 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. The minimum age requirement for the bg26.2 is 16 years old.
Half marathon awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male/female finishers. Overall awards to masters male/female (40-49), grandmasters male/female (50 and over) and 1st thru 3rd place in age group divisions. Age groups for the half marathon are 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. The minimum age requirement for the half marathon is 12 years old.
Awards are determined by gun times per USATF guidelines for all sanctioned events, and our timing company (3 Way Racing) insists to conform to the USATF regulations.The exception will be that gun time will be used to determine overall male and female finishers, whereas chip time will be used to determine age group winners.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Susan B. Riherd, sister of bg26.2 Race Director Lilly Riherd, who died from MS at the age of 48.
The bg26.2 half marathon is a RRCA Kentucky State Championship event. Awards will be given to overall male and female open, masters (40+), grand masters (50+), and senior grand masters (60+) in the bg26.2 half marathon.
It’s a 6K race through downtown Bowling Green, or perhaps it’s a 5K with an bonus K at the end. No matter how you look at it, the bg6k presents a unique and fun challenge.
The bg6000 course starts the same place as the bg26.2 and runs the same route until you reach Steamers on State Street. Turn left and follow E 8th Ave to the finish line! Start time for the bg6000 is 7:30 a.m. Central Time.

New to this year's event is a 1 Mile MS Walk on Saturday, November 2nd. It will begin at 4:30pm and will be held in the National Corvette Museum parking lot.
Registered participants will receive a t-shirt and free admittance to the bg26.2 pasta dinner and expo beginning at 5pm (right after the 1 Mile MS Walk).
On Sunday, November 3rd, bg26.2 & half marathon is hosting a Kids Only Run (bgKIDS 26.2) in conjunction with the bg26.2 & half marathon. This event will start and finish at the Bowling Green Ball Park. Each child will need to have walked, run or wheel-chaired 25 miles by Wednesday, October 29, 2019 to be able to participate!! * bg26.2 & Half Marathon does not offer refunds for any event. A transfer option is available for a fee of $10 and will allow you to transfer from one event to another, or transfer to another person in the same event. The participant can complete this task on their own by loggin into their RaceRoster account. Deferrals from year to year are offered for a fee of $15. To request a deferral, please email registration@bg262.com for assistance. Transfer and deferral deadline is Sunday October 27th, 2019.
