Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority

Raise money for Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) is a local environmental agency that covers a watershed areas from Greater Napanee to Brockville and north to Newboro. We were established in 1964 and provide a broad range of conservation programs including watershed management, environmental planning, conservation education, habitat protection and outdoor recreation.

The Cataraqui Trail, owned by the CRCA, is a multi-use trail built upon the former CN rail line and runs from Smiths Falls to Strathcona in Greater Napanee. The trail is 104 kilometers long and passes through a number of communities including Chaffey’s Lock, Sydenham, and Harrowsmith. The Trail is managed by the Cataraqui Trail Management Board and is maintained by community volunteers. In 2016 the management board intends to undertake resurfacing projects via a ‘Canada 150’ grant on a section of the Trail west of Harrowsmith which also connects to the K&P Trail. Donations made at the Sydenham Triathalon and Lakeside Run will go directly to trail upgrading and maintenance.
