We were 12 weeks pregnant when we had our first ultrasound and the tech found a cystic hygroma (a sack of fluid) on the back of Faith's neck. We were told then she likely wouldn't survive and if she did, she would have severe special needs. We went to a specialist monthly for ultrasounds and testing. Following the amniocentesis, we learned that Faith had a very rare genetic mutation of dwarfism called COL2A1. Following this diagnosis, we learned that if Faith made it to full term and survived delivery, she would only live for a few minutes. On April 16th, at 35 weeks pregnant, sweet baby Faith made her way into this world via c-section and lived for a couple of hours before going to her home in Heaven. We are so grateful for the time we had with her and the pictures we received from NILMDTS.
