My Story…
I knew something was "off" around the age of 12, began investigating what exactly was going on at 18 and when tension headache didn't quite fit, I went to neurologist Dr. Thomas Graham as Paoli at 24.
Dr. Graham diagnosed me with Intractable Chronic Migraine and put me on Topamax. This was the beginning of a love/hate relationship with this drug and medications in general since I have only found relief through trial and error. It has been a LONG, PAINFUL process. I have spent hours in the ER, days getting IV infusion therapy. days in Jeff Headache Center and a guinea pig for migraine trials- all for a chance at relief. The possibility of a day without pain, a week, maybe even a month. Especially now that I am a mother I just want to be and feel "normal".
