I have been suffering from Daily Chronic Migraines since 3rd grade. In my freshman year of high school, I was forced to leave due to debilitating pain. I could not return to a regular classroom routine and spent 90% of my high school years at home.  I want nothing more than to go to college with my peers; however, my chronic pain makes it difficult to concentrate and learn. What it has taught me though, is I need to learn better ways to manage my pain so I can keep moving forward. After my last fundraiser, I was selected to attend Headache On the Hill in DC where I worked to increase public policy and awareness for Chronic Pain and Migraine. See my interview done there.

Here is what you need to know….

Migraine is not just a bad headache; it is classified as a multi-symptom neurological disease. Symptoms range from visual disturbance and eye pain to slurred speech, heightened sense of smell and light, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and weakness. Migraine is ranked the 6th most debilitating disease. It affects 39 million Americans, and 4 million people suffer from Daily Chronic migraines. Migraine disproportionately affects women. It is the least funded of all neurological illnesses. Migraine receives around 20 million annually, which is ten times less than other diseases raising on avg 200 million. The NIH funds only $0.51 for a migraine patient. Join MY TEAM and help ME FIGHT this disease!
