The Rooted Acoustic Barn Raising 5K & 1M Kids Dash is an exciting opportunity for our community to come together to enjoy physical activity and embrace the outdoors! The race begins on Main Street at Seven Bridges at the roundabout at Irving Place & Main Street where you can get a glimpse of all that those businesses offer. Please arrive early, park in the movie theater parking lot and follow the sound of live music performed by the Acoustaholics. The race culminates in the Greene Valley Forest Preserve at the Greene Barn, a beautiful backdrop and an excellent piece of Woodridge history. This year's race celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Village of Woodridge and the 50th Anniversary of the Woodridge Park District. After the race the excitement will continue at the Greene Barn with farm-to-table food from Allegory, live music by Cary Kanno, stretching with a certified yoga instructor, massage and children's activities sponsored by Home Depot. Free return trip to Main Street in Seven Bridges via Naperville Trolley and Tours. Lucky bib numbers may go home with merchant giveaways*!

The 2019 Inaugural Rooted Acoustic Barn Raising event is celebrating the Village of Woodridge and the Woodridge Park District 60th and 50th anniversaries. The 175-year-old Greene Barn is located in the Greene Valley Forest Preserve at the corner of Hobson and Greene Roads, within one half mile of the Main Street area and is the largest barn in DuPage County. The Greene Barn Ad Hoc Committee is developing a proposal for the best use of the barn which will be presented to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Proceeds from this race will benefit the Greene Valley Forest Preserve, which includes the barn, through the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. The race is an effort to build awareness for this beautiful historical treasure and its future potential for the community. Thank you for your support!

Race Day

7:00 am - 7:50 am: Registration and Packet Pickup at Seven Bridges - Intersection of Irving Place and Main Street
8:00 am – 5K Race Begins
8:30 am – The post-race celebration includes live acoustic music, yoga, massage, farm-to-table food and children’s activities (including face painting) at the Greene Barn.
9:00 am - 1 Mile Walk/Run begins & ends at the Greene Barn.
9:20 am - Pick up awards
