My Story…
I got the shock of my life in December 2016 when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After a full hysterectomy and 6 months of treatment (radiation and chemo), I was cancer-free for almost 2 years. Then, in February 2019, the cancer returned. The good news (if there is such a thing when it comes to ovarian cancer) was that the tumor was very small and there was only one. They removed it and then I went through 3 weeks of radiation. After a visit with an oncologist at Sloan Kettering in NYC, it was recommended that I undergo additional chemotherapy. My local doc and I agreed “better safe than sorry.” I am about to receive my 5th (out of 6) infusion on 9/13 and am looking forward to putting this battle against cancer behind me.
