Mission
Growing Hearts Garden Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Our goal is to offer a positive work environment, and learning opportunities, for our community members with developmental disabilities. The learning opportunities Growing Hearts provides include customer service, independence, career training, community integration, self confidence building, teamwork, promoting acceptance in the community and social, interpersonal and occupation skills. We feel this is best accomplished when our employees are able to describe their capabilities, likes and needs, to speak or communicate for themselves, and to make their own decisions. WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE AND EMPHASIS OUR ABILITIES, INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON OUR INABILITIES. We will service our local community with their garden center needs and give everyone who comes through our “doors” a hometown experience that will truly grow the heart.
