The Live for 24 Foundation along with The University of Tampa Athletic Department is hosting The 2nd Annual Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay on Saturday, October 19, 2019 on the beautiful University of Tampa campus in Downtown Tampa, FL. Race proceeds will allow the Live for 24 Foundation to continue to provide life-enriching opportunities to deserving youth in Tampa Bay through meaningful service and scholarship. Participants are welcome to run, walk or stroll their way through campus on a scenic 3.1-mile course that includes a portion of the race along side the Hillsborough River. In addition to the 5K, this year we have added Melissa's Mile Relay, an event where participants will have the chance to form a team of 4 runners, each to complete 1 of 4 laps around Pepin Field track in a team race. Runners will need to register together as a team of 4 for this event.

The 5K race will be chip timed and begin promptly at 8:00 am with Melissa’s Mile Relay following at 9:30am. A family friendly race party will be held at Pepin Field starting at 6:30am and will include food, refreshments, music, bounce houses and local vendor tents to enjoy.

Registration for the 5K includes a dri-fit race shirt, finisher metal, swag bag and free food and drinks. Registration for the Mile Relay includes dri-fit race shirt, free food and drinks. Registrations on or after October 1, 2019 are not guaranteed a race shirt.

Packet Pick-Up will be conveniently located at Pepin Field on race day beginning at 6:30am, or on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4 – 7 pm at Fit2Run at International Plaza, 2223 N West Shore Blvd. Tampa, FL 33607.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

The Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay participants' safety is the most important thing and if any of the threatening weather conditions listed below are present the day of the event, the event may be delayed or canceled. When weather conditions or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, The Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay officials maintain the right to cancel the event. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or the post event festival to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. Such conditions fall under the label "Acts of God," and will not result in refunding of any race entry fees or future event credits.

THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS

The Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tropical Storm, Hurricane, Thunderstorm, "Heavy" Rain, High Winds, other major weather conditions.

START OF THE RACE / CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT

The start of the event may be delayed one hour from the posted start time if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist.

AUTHORITY TO CANCEL THE EVENT

The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day. In the event of cancellation, all Livefor24 5K/Mile Relay participants will receive an email with information on how they can still receive their swag bag, race shirt and finishers medal.

BROADCAST OF CANCELLATION

If Event is canceled more than 24 hours prior to the start time: We will notify all participants by email. If Event is canceled less than 24 hours before start time: We will notify all participants by email and post on social media. If Event is canceled during the actual event, on-site notification will be announced.
