Come join Porter Ridge Athletic Boosters Club in partnership with Hearts for Monroe in hosting our 2nd annual Sock Trot 5K. This course will run through the Porter Ridge Campus on November 16th, 2019 and proceeds will help support our growing Cross Country, Track & Field, and athletic programs.
Partnering with Hearts for Monroe we ask that participants bring new packs of clean, warm socks as a donation for this cause that Hearts for Monroe will have distributed to needy individuals and families in the upcoming cold winter months.
This course is fast and primarily flat as it maneuvers through the streets of the Porter Ridge campus. We will be awarding medals in all the standard overall, age and gender groups in addition to offering a team division.
The team division uses traditional cross country scoring. A team must consist of 5 runners and we will offer a discounted race entry rate per those 5 runners at $100 per team. The team division is called "The Teachers Cup Challenge". To qualify for this division, participants must be teachers, administration, and or staff of accredited NC / SC school systems. Timing will be provided by Start2Finish.
Early packet pick up will be available at Porter Ridge High School, beginning at 6pm on Thursday November 14th, during our Winter Sports Kickoff Night. A kiosk will also be available if you wish to complete your early registration in person and collect your race packet.
