As a group, we are creating an awesome event to bring the Community together to help put an end to Homelessness in the London. It is estimated there are about 1,000 homeless in the city, based on emergency shelter data. Nearly 5,000 households in London are also on the waiting list for rent-geared-to-income or other forms of community and non-profit housing, with the wait stretching seven to 10 years for those who don’t have high priority. Proceeds from the Fight to End Homelessness event will go to support Youth Opportunities Unlimited’s plan to build a 30-bed youth shelter in the city’s east end.
