Our story…

Get Wheeling, Walking and Running! 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, Ultra Marathon Sunday May 31, 2020 Because that’s what unites us as a team and carries us all over the finish line! All you need is a passion for making the lives of Albertan’s with disabilities more independent so they can reach their full potential, have accessibility, mobility and open access to our communities. In fact, almost half our team has never run a race before in any capacity, few on our team have ever fundraised before either. But, we’ve got you taken care of on both fronts…You don’t have to be an athlete to join! Easter Seals Alberta is a registered charity that provides services that foster inclusion, independence and recreation for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions. We have been connecting Albertans with direct services, programs and advocacy since 1951.

Description

With help, from people like you, we make this possible with our main supports:

EASTER SEALS CAMP HORIZON

Provides subsidized five-day summer camps and respite weekends for Albertans with disabilities and medical conditions.


ACCESSIBILITY SUPPORT

Aims to provide critically needed equipment and support to those who qualify both physically and financially. This includes Equipment and Support Services, Home Automation, Phyllis Davidson Easter Seals Scholarship, Community Access and the Give a Kid a Lift program.


EASTER SEALS MCQUEEN HOME

A self-governed, 24-hour personal care residence in Edmonton for people with disabilities looking to develop independent living skills.
