Description
Considered one of the most significant health crises of this century, dementia is the second most feared disease among aging Canadians for which there is no known cause or cure. Regardless of race, gender, family history, occupation or social status, anyone can be affected. It is not just a disease of the aged; 5-10% of people diagnosed with dementia are under the age of 65 (young onset). Demand for support services was extremely high in 2019 with a 20% increase in the number of individuals connecting with us compared to 2018. By supporting the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, you are making a real difference for persons living with dementia, their families and caregivers. Increasing our own capacity ensures we can meet the growing demand for services that is desperately needed
