We have been providing programs and services since 1986 in one of lowest income areas in Ottawa. Our mission is to provide services to the community that feed and nurture physical and emotional wellness. Our vision is a strong, healthy, safe, self-sustaining community were the residents are confident, empowered and independent; where those who have need for food, companionship, housing, education, or knowledge, are provided for in a coordinated fashion with dignity and responsiveness.
In an average month we:
- serve 2,700 meals
- help 500 children & 800 adults at the food bank
- serve 175 children in the Baby Depot
- provide 800 afterschool snacks
We also offer:
- Summer Day Camp for 80 children
- Cooking Workshops twice a month
- Employment Readiness classes
- provide access to a Settlement Worker
In the past year we have experienced an increase of 45% in the number of people needing a healthy lunch, and an increase of 90% in the number of babies requiring supplies from the Baby Depot.
