Education in Canada is a success story. Studies show that our schools are among the best in the world.
But high overall quality masks deep inequality. On First Nations reserves, 3 in 5 students do not complete high school. In the North, those numbers are even lower due to teacher supply and turnover. Teach For Canada works with 20 northern communities to recruit, prepare, and support committed teachers. Together, we can make education more equal.
Teach For Canada recruits, prepares, and supports teachers in northern First Nations in Ontario and Manitoba. Since 2015, 180 teachers have gone North with Teach For Canada and connected with over 2,600 students. By supporting us in this year's Tamarack Race Weekend, you will help us prepare 45 new teachers at the Summer Enrichment Program.
