My Story…
I am incredibly passionate about the work of Planned Parenthood Ottawa. They work locally to help people navigate complex situations related to their sexual and reproductive health. They do this through their community education programs, as well as their options counselling.
As a new mother, I am incredibly grateful to have had access to information and choices when it came to having my son. However, I realize that this is a result of the privilege and it not the reality for many folks in our city. I support Planned Parenthood Ottawa and their work because everyone deserves to have evidence-informed information on their own bodies and should be able to access to make their own choices when it comes to their sexual and reproductive health.
Description
Planned Parenthood Ottawa (PPO) is a non-profit and registered charity that provides a full range of sexual and reproductive health options for the national capital region. It provides unbiased counselling on both birth control and pregnancy options. PPO provides community and school education, providing information, resources, and birth control for free at community fairs, as well as schools in Ottawa. However, none of this is possible without the support of our communities. In 2020, we ask you to Run for Choice, Run for Access and Run for Sexual and Reproductive Health Education in Ottawa!
