Mon histoire…

May 24, 2020 I'll be running the Scotiabank Ottawa 1/2 marathon in honour of my Dad, John Byrne who passed away from Pancreatic cancer June 26, 2012. Running with the MEMC(Make every Moment Count) Crew is so fitting as my Dad had such a passion and appreciation for life. He loved sports and although never a runner himself, he was my #1 fan. I'll never forget his ear to ear smile and bone crushing hug after I finished my first Marathon in 1979. Years later at the age of 75 he ran around the track and across the finish line with me at IM Lake Placid. I had to ask him to slow down! Again, there was that ear to ear smile! By the time he was diagnosed he was stage 4 with no chance of survival. Sadly, this is common with Pancreatic cancer. It's the most deadly yet underfunded cancer!! Please help me raise money for research and awareness of this cruel disease. 100% of money raised will go directly to Dr. Jon Bell's oncolytic virus and Car T cell research at the Ottawa Hospital. Thank you!!
