Hi all! Mike here. As we live through the Covid-19 pandemic, I have many reasons to be grateful. My home - a safe space to physically distance - is a big one. I’m also grateful for Shepherds of Good Hope, for their health, harm reduction + shelter programs; and for their (expanding) permanent, supportive housing. As some community supports have had to close during the pandemic, operational demands at Shepherds - alongside efforts to create safe housing solutions - have only increased. Ending homelessness has never been a more urgent public health priority. And, I’m grateful for the ability to run. This year’s Ottawa Marathon will be a solo affair; I'm mapping my 42k route, and plan to run on Saturday, June 13. While running solo, one way I’ll feel supported is through our collective support for community. If you’re able, please join me w/ a donation to Shepherds!
