Our story…

Why “Active Squirrels”? When I entered the world of middle school ministry I read “Middle School Ministry” by Mark Oestreicher and Scott Rubin. What stood out most was the cover with a squirrel in the corner. They explained that often Jr. High youth are described in ways that could be said about this common Canadian animal: playful, hungry, juvenile, energetic, inquisitive, friendly, and a bit nutty. This is why I am running for the Active Squirrels! This comparison has rung true in my ministry and I personally see Jr High youth as active squirrels running around trying to find their place in our world and the kingdom of God. What is our goal? Our goal is to raise $2500 to go towards my work with Youth Unlimited. This is a big challenge both physically and financially, but I know with the right people beside us we will be able to reach our goals.

Description

As we invest in youth wholeness, we believe young people will experience God’s love and life-changing power. As they do, it’s YU’s vision to see our 5 Gauges of Transformation — which are Renewed Character, Healthy Relationships, Rooted Identity, Joyful Service and Clear Purpose — come to life in each young person we serve and, through their influence, in their community and beyond.

Join our team on May 2-3 and together we will help our youth transform the City!
