Raise money for 412 Food Rescue
412 Food Rescue was founded in Pittsburgh as a direct response to the fact that while we waste 40% of our food, 1 in 8 people are hungry. Our work bridges the disconnect between food waste, hunger, and environmental sustainability by redirecting perfectly viable food headed for the landfill directly to nonprofits who serve individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity.
With food insecurity on the rise due to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 crisis, 412 Food Rescue is working to ensure fresh healthy food is reaching people where they live. This includes seniors and households with young children who are forced to remain homebound and lack the adequate resources to obtain emergency food.
Your donations will support 412 Food Rescue NOW as we:
- Launch and expand door-to-door capabilities to reach people’s homes.
- Aid children who are out of school and unable to access food support. We are focused on serving the most vulnerable children in neighborhoods with high poverty rates and the least mobility in the coming weeks via school bus stops - the one place we know children can reach every day, with or without parents.
- Finally, we will continue to serve non-traditional food access points, including public housing and shelters.
We are so grateful for your support which will contribute to all of these urgent and critical needs.
On behalf of everyone at 412 Food Rescue, thank you. We are all in this together!
