Help Terrence raise money

For participating in 2020 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend

My Story…

Those of you that know me know that i am NOT a runner. I may have been a running back, but I only ran when they gave me the ball. However, this opportunity is much bigger than scoring a touchdown. Through a conversation I overheard at a coffee shop, I learned about Connecting Champions, and the impact they were making with children who were battling cancer. Since then we have launched the JLM Masquerade Ball in honor of my Mom Janet, and I have made special friends like Katie and Sean. Every step of my journey is dedicated to my Mom and kids like Katie and Sean. Kids who have endured many ups and downs throughout their cancer journey. Every dollar raised goes to Connecting Champions a non-profit that asks kids with cancer, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" They've paired kids with many different professions everything from chefs and train conductors to ballerinas and ghost hunters! Please join me in helping give these kids a chance just to be kids during a difficult journey.

Description

Connecting Champions is a nonprofit that asks kids with cancer, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and connects them with a mentor for the cancer journey. Everything we do is research-based and outcomes-driven, built to bridge the developmental gap between kids with cancer and their peers.

85% of children survive cancer, but nearly two out of every three kids suffer from a serious, long-term psychosocial side effect (Koocher et al.).

We’ve paired kids, teens, and young adults with 42 different professions -- constitutional lawyers, cybersecurity experts, chefs, ghost hunters, and many in between. Through our historic partnership with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, we’re adding a child development approach to pediatric oncology
