COURSE MAPS
NOTE: Your GPS watch may show your distance as significantly shorter than advertised and your footpod may show your distance as slightly longer than advertised. While impossible to create trail courses with exact distances, it is important to us to design courses for you that are close as possible to the advertised distances. The courses were measured using calibrated bike computers and then compared to the trail section distances that were measured by the USNWC Trail Staff to confirm accuracy. Course Preview
There will be 1 water stop for the 4-mile race, 4 water stops for the 9-mile race and 5 water stops for the 13-mile race. All courses are approximate distances.
4-Mile Run
The 4-mile race starts in the parking lot and runs around the newly extended parking area back clockwise towards the Channel Loop. It proceeds up towards the Whitewater Center and makes a u-turn back towards the trailhead to the North Main Trail (.9 miles). Run the North Main Trail (including the finger that runs north/south along the river). After heading south on the North Trail go past the boat dock and then exit up the road marked by the dotted brown line. Exit onto the Channel Loop and run counter-clockwise back toward the parking lot. Runners will do a u-turn and run through the finish line at the Raft Barn.
9-Mile Run
The 9 mile starts in the parking lot and runs around the newly extended parking area back clockwise towards the Channel Loop. It proceeds up towards the Whitewater Center and makes a u-turn back towards the trailhead to the North Main Trail (.9 miles). Run the North Main Trail (including the finger that runs north/south along the river). After heading south on the North Trail continue on the South Main Trail. Run up through the Carpet Loop, back to the South Main Trail. Proceed up around the Wedge extension, back to South Main, up and back down Goat Hill, and proceed to the Toilet Bowl Loop. Complete the South Main Trail and proceed back up towards the Lake Loop. Go past the Lake Loop down the access road back to the start line. Turn left to continue through the start line location down the hill and into the finish chute by the Raft Barn.
13-Mile Run
The 13 mile starts in the parking lot and runs around the newly extended parking area back clockwise towards the Channel Loop. It proceeds up towards the Whitewater Center and makes a u-turn back towards the trailhead to the North Main Trail (.9 miles). Run the North Main Trail (including the finger that runs north/south along the river). After heading south on the North Trail continue on the South Main Trail. Run up through the Carpet Loop, back to the South Main Trail. Proceed up around the Wedge extension, back to South Main, up and back down Goat Hill, and proceed to the Toilet Bowl Loop. Complete the South Main Trail and proceed back up towards the Lake Loop. Go past the Lake Loop down the access road back towards the finish line. Continue on the dotted blue line and onto the East Main Trail. Run the East Main Trail backwards and then take a left to exit into the back of the parking lot. Run straight to the finish line. Turn right to continue through the start line location and down the hill into the finish chute by the Raft Barn.
Fun Run
The Fun Run (Approx. 0.8 miles) will start on the Channel Loop just past the entrance to the flat water area and will circle around the entire Channel. The run will finish at the main finish line by the Raft Barn.
