My Story…

My son Joshua passed away on December 14, 2008, at the age of 8. He was diagnosed with DIPG early in October 2008. Joshua was a fun-loving, God-fearing boy who enjoyed sports, and who had a smile and laughter that were contagious.

I started running in 2010 to relieve stress and to help me grieve the loss of Joshua. I ran my first 5k in October 2011. My first 10k was at the Cleveland Marathon in May 2012. The following year, I ran my first marathon. This year, I will be running my 4th marathon.

I first heard of Prayers from Maria when I went to the Cleveland Marathon Expo in 2013. I decided that this was an organization that I really wanted to be a part of. Prayers from Maria is full of kind, loving people who are dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG.

Please consider a donation to this wonderful organization. Thank you!
