Halifax Search & Rescue 100% non-profit, all volunteer org, registered charity >150 active members on call 24/7 responding to any lost-person incidents & civil emergencies.
Mandate: Locate / rescue lost persons within greater Halifax & throughout NS as needed: forest, shorelines, & urban areas. Assist local police in evidence searches, evacuations & civil emergencies, cooperating with NS EMO & Halifax. We also teach wilderness survival, education sessions, & Adventure Smart child / youth programs.
HSAR acts w professionalism, compassion, respect, integrity, accountability, effectiveness, & teamwork for the lost subject, & ourselves.
