For participating in Blue Nose Marathon

My Story…

Growing up, I was never the athletic kid. I wore Chuck Taylors to gym class and never really felt as if I belonged. In my later twenties, I grew fond of running and lifting weights at the gym. To my surprise, I found out that I am actually a decent runner -- so why not do something official, you know? Running in the Bluenose 10k offers me a chance to set personal goals as well as community goals. As for the latter, Autism Nova Scotia is an organisation that is near and dear to my heart. We can do more for kids in the public education system and approach learning differently. Autism Nova Scotia is doing great work in assisting educators with approaching education from a different perspective and with a view to helping kids who are on the autism spectrum. The truth is that these approaches often provide changes that all kids benefit from. As for personal goals? My goal is to do this 10k it in 45 minutes or less. Wish me luck and thank you for your support!
