Description
HaliFIX Overdose Prevention Site is Atlantic Canada's first legal safe injection site, sanctioned by Health Canada.
We are a community-based initiative, creating a safe, welcoming space for people to consume illicit substances without fear of overdose death or arrest. We are led by, and employ, people with lived expertise of substance use to provide support, connect clients to health and social services, and respond to overdoses. Established in 2019, HaliFIX is a program of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre.
We operate without government funding, and your donation will help keep us open!
