Raise money for Halifax Public Libraries

Halifax Public Libraries is Atlantic Canada’s largest library system, proudly serving the 400,000 residents of Halifax and surrounding areas.  With more than 3.6 million visits to our 14 branches and a collection of nearly one million, we are a launch pad for growth.

In our community, no one should be hungry. When you think of a public library, historically a book-filled space where food was banned, do you imagine a partner in the fight against food insecurity? 1 in 5 people do not have access to affordable, healthy food. Halifax Public Libraries now offers free food literacy programs that build knowledge and skills in areas such as growing, cooking, nutrition and local choices. Runners will support more than 400 food literacy programs and healthy snacks in our community.
