HSAR: All volunteer ground search & rescue team dedicated to bringing home lost persons in all weather 24 / 7 always providing our own on-site, mobile, self-sufficient command structure.  30

With > 40 years of service HSAR has been involved in some of the largest ground SAR & civilian emergencies in North American history. We also lead coastline recovery efforts for Swissair 111, assisted Red Cross in 9/11 passenger diversion; helped with public evacuation for train derailments, floods, infrastructure damage, & fires; & provided transport services during extreme weather events for hospital staff!  90

HSAR is dedicated to maintaining one of the most active volunteer SAR training schedules in Canada year-round, day & night, in all weather to keep our skills current.

HSAR also provides public education in areas including map & compass navigation, GPS use, & woods safety. Members also educate hundreds of children annually through the Hug-a-Tree program.

HSAR members are busy people using 2020 Bluenose as healthy, fun way to keep fit & promote awareness of volunteer ground SAR. while fund-raising!     Watch for us: We will stand out…
