My Story…
Meeting the needs of kids fleeing violence is important to me for two reasons.
One reason is that I know abuse occurs in a cycle. So by making sure that kids and their moms are supported at Dixon, the cycle of abuse can end.
Another reason (and more importantly to me), I believe that childhood is something sacred. Sure, they're our future, but I also know that every child who's come through Dixon's doors has been through a lot already in their young lives. I believe that childhood should be a time of wonder, play, and lots of laughter and love. I'm going the #DistanceForDixon because I know that the child support program allows kids impacted by violence to heal and have the chance to just be kids despite all they've experienced. I hope you will support me by donating!
Description
We want the children in our care to grow up safe and happy, with every opportunity to go the distance. We also know that children who grow up to respect women and express emotions in a healthy way are an indicator of the cycle of violence being broken.
Because of this, we offer a comprehensive child support program, with dedicated Child Support Workers, fun group activities and an exciting summer recreation program.
