My Story…
Dear friends,
I used to work at Dixon years ago - it was actually the first job I had while I was still finishing my communications degree at SFU. Since then, I've gone on to gain valuable experiences, but nothing quite compared to the fulfillment and impact of my work at Dixon.
After experiencing the loss of our baby boy Joen at the end of January 2020, it was more important to me than ever to spend my time doing what I thought was meaningful and purpose-driven. Fortunately, I had an opportunity to come back to Dixon to support fundraising communications, specifically related to the 2020 Scotiabank Charity Challenge. So I have come full circle! With my passion and energy for running, helping out with the Scotiabank Charity Challenge makes so much sense.
This year, I'm running the virtual half marathon at the end of June, with hopes to raise money for Dixon's child support program. Wherever you are, I invite you to join me on my journey as I go the #DistanceForDixon!

Description
We want the children in our care to grow up safe and happy, with every opportunity to go the distance. We also know that children who grow up to respect women and express emotions in a healthy way are an indicator of the cycle of violence being broken.
Because of this, we offer a comprehensive child support program, with dedicated Child Support Workers, fun group activities and an exciting summer recreation program.
$250 raised funds individualized support and access to comprehensive child support program for 1 child
$500 funds all of the above for 2 children
