For participating in 2020 Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K

My Story…

As an amateur athlete I wish to use this platform to bring awareness to men's mental health. Being active in sports not only brings me joy and happiness, it is also a good way to combat depression, stay connected to people, and build resilience. Some of the core values that help shape my time in training are strength, focus, courage, and passion. I train and participate in the equestrian sport of Eventing, which brings together the three disciplines of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. Equestrian sports are unique as you are a team of two athletes – horse & rider, and I enjoy the challenge of the sport because it's not only physically demanding, but more than that, it requires psychological strength and mindfulness. In 2019, I completed the challenge of competing in my first half-marathon. I have enjoyed running at different races in the region of Vancouver and am looking forward to having fun racing for years to come!
