For participating in Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Virtual Race 2020

My Story…

Hi friends!

Thanks for visiting my profile for the 2020 Virtual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront (not)Marathon! For the last two years, I have participated in the 5K walk/run in Toronto with my Stand Up for Kids teammates, and this year I am excited to take on the 10K in my hometown as we all participate safely from a distance.

I know the pandemic has taken it's toll on all of us, but for children and youth in and from the child welfare system, COVID-19 has created many challenges on top of those they regularly face. Young people who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing abuse and neglect leading to involvement in the child welfare system need our help.

Your donation will not only motivate me to tackle this 10K, but it will also help Children's Aid Foundation of Canada as they work to strengthen families who are at risk so they can stay together, help children in care by providing enrichment and educational supports and resources, and support youth as they transition out of government care into their own independent lives, sometimes as young as 18 years old.

Every dollar counts. If you would like to hear more information about the cause, please reach out to me, I have a lot to share! Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this event for the last few years, and to those who are able to help this year! Your donation truly makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable kids across the country.

p.s. I haven't picked out a fun run outfit this year yet, suggestions are welcome!

<3 Anne

Description

Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada is our country’s leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth who have experienced or live at risk of abuse and neglect. Through circumstances beyond their control, thousands of young people lack a safe home and someone to nurture their growth. The Foundation’s Stand Up for Kids national campaign for child welfare was developed to help these kids overcome their trauma and break the cycle of abuse and neglect for future generations. Join the Stand Up for Kids movement to create positive change for vulnerable youth across Canada and transform their prospects for a brighter future!
